A special traffic plan will be in place for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and this will include some roads being closed or traffic being restricted, the police said.

Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that the public will be informed in advance on the traffic arrangements during the summit. He said that apart from Colombo there will be a special traffic plan in Hambantota from the Mattala International airport to the Hambantota town. The main summit will take place in Colombo while events will also take place in Hambantota and other areas.
The police spokesman said that the summit is important for Sri Lanka and as such the police will seek the support of the public to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the summit.
He also said that special security arrangements will be in place in parts of Colombo during the summit.
